Release notes

Snapstub is updated in small, finished pieces rather than big rewrites. Nothing below was removed later, and no version has ever required an account, a subscription, or an upload.

1.7.0 — submitted, awaiting review

Mileage. If you drive for work, Snapstub now keeps the drives beside the receipts, under the same period, the same business and the same one-time unlock.

• Log a trip with date, distance, purpose and route — or keep the log by odometer instead, where each trip takes a start and end reading and the distance is worked out for you. The next trip starts where the last one ended, so there is one number to type.
• Long-press a trip to log it again: same route and purpose, today’s date. The weekly client visit stops being retyped.
• Monthly subtotals, business-use share, and the year’s opening and closing odometer readings — what the IRS and CRA ask for.
• Trips export to their own CSV, or to a mileage report of their own. Receipt exports can include a mileage section, or not — your choice.
• Pick any start and end date for a filter or an export: a quarter, a fiscal year, or the half-year before a rate change.
• Dutch receipts now read correctly (BTW), and shops with “market” or “pharmacy” in the name no longer lose it.

Finding the receipt you are looking for.

• The “needs a double-check” banner became a button: tap it to see just those receipts, fix them, and it tells you when there is nothing left.
• A “Recently scanned” sort. When a printed date is misread the receipt used to file itself somewhere you would never look.
• Every receipt keeps a record of when it was captured. Receipts from before the update recover theirs from the saved photo.
• Sort moved next to the search box, so the filter row stays filters.

1.5.x — July 2026

• Tip capture, read from the receipt or entered by hand, with its own total.
• Batch capture: scan a stack without leaving the camera.
• Optional fields (tip, note) and custom categories, off by default.
• Extraction accuracy work across the real-receipt corpus.

1.4.0 — July 2026

• A real scanner: live edge detection, straightening, and a quick category.

• CSV layouts shaped for a specific package — QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, FreshBooks, Zoho Books — so the import works the first time.
• PDF report with the tax breakdown: subtotal before tax, tax, total.

• A rating prompt that asks after a successful save, once per version, never mid-task.

1.1.x — June 2026

• French throughout the app, for anyone whose phone is set to French — and Québec sales-tax reading (TPS and TVQ added correctly, “T.P.S.” with the periods).

1.0 — June 2026

• The first release: photograph a receipt, have it read on the device into a clean row, keep the ledger, and export it as a file you own.

How versions are numbered

The middle number moves when a release adds something you can use; the last when it fixes something. A version marked awaiting review has been submitted to Apple and is not installable yet — the App Store shows the previous version until Apple approves it, usually within a day or two.
