Common questions
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free lets you scan unlimited receipts, organize them by day and month, see running totals, and back everything up. Snapstub Pro is a one-time one-time unlock — no subscription — that opens up CSV exports, the PDF expense report, bulk actions, and Quick Share. Scanning and your data are never paywalled — you can always see your receipts; Pro is for exporting them as a file.
A field came out wrong. How do I fix it?
Tap the receipt to open it and edit any field — merchant, date, total, tax or category. Fields Snapstub wasn't fully sure about are flagged in amber on the review screen so you can confirm them before saving. OCR isn't perfect; a quick glance at the flagged fields catches most mistakes.
Which export do I pick for QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, FreshBooks or Zoho Books?
In Export, choose CSV and set "Made for" to your accounting software. The file comes out with exactly the columns and amount signs that software's import expects — QuickBooks and Wave get the 3-column bank-transactions layout, Xero its bank-statement template, FreshBooks its expenses import. Leave it on Standard for a full spreadsheet with every field.
Why doesn't the QuickBooks/Xero CSV have a tax column?
Those files are bank-style imports — the amounts are gross (tax included), and your accounting software applies the tax when you reconcile, the same way it treats a real bank feed. Your captured tax isn't lost: it's in the Standard CSV and on the PDF report, which shows subtotal (before tax) · tax · total.
I'm in Québec — can the report split TPS and TVQ?
Yes. When exporting a PDF, turn on "Split tax as TPS + TVQ". The report then shows TPS and TVQ lines (estimated from the combined 14.975% rate and labeled as such) instead of a single tax line, plus the subtotal and grand total.
Does the export include the receipt photo?
The CSV is the structured data (merchant, date, total, tax, category) — a clean table for your accountant or spreadsheet. The PDF report includes thumbnails of the receipts alongside the totals. To move the full-resolution images between devices, use Backup & Restore, which packages the rows and their images together.
Can I import emailed PDFs or screenshots?
Yes. Import a PDF receipt (the kind stores email you) or a screenshot from your camera roll — a bank-statement screenshot, for instance — and Snapstub will read it into a row just like a photographed receipt. If it contains a QR code, that's detected too.
What is Quick Share?
Quick Share turns a selection of receipts into a QR code that another iPhone running Snapstub can scan to import the same rows — no files, no cloud, nothing leaves the two phones. It's for handing a handful of receipts to a partner or assistant fast. For the full archive with images, use Backup & Restore instead.
Can I back up just one month or year?
Backups are always complete — that's what makes restore reliable on a new phone. To archive a period (say, a tax year), use Export with a date range and "Include receipt photos": you get a CSV plus the photos in one ZIP, readable forever without this app.
I deleted a receipt by accident.
Deleted receipts go to a Recently Deleted area first, where you can restore them. Open it from Settings to recover anything you didn't mean to remove before it's permanently cleared.
I got a new phone — how do I get my receipts and Pro back?
For your receipts: restore the backup file you exported (Settings → Backup & Restore). For Pro: Settings → Snapstub Pro → Restore purchase. As long as you're signed into the same Apple ID that bought it, the unlock comes back instantly — there's no account to log into, StoreKit handles it.
Will the app upload my receipts somewhere?
No. All scanning and storage is on-device. The app has no analytics SDKs and no networking outside what StoreKit needs to process the purchase. See the privacy policy for specifics.

Feature requests
Same email. The app is intentionally focused — more export formats (OFX, QuickBooks) and statement import are on the roadmap — but the inbox is open and reads are real.
Refunds
In-app purchase refunds are handled by Apple, not by Snapstub. Open reportaproblem.apple.com and request a refund within 90 days of purchase. If Apple denies it and you think the app misbehaved, email us — we'll do what we can.
